Shadow AI Monitoring

Shadow AI Monitoring gives your organization visibility into which AI tools are being used across your environment. This article explains what Shadow AI Monitoring is, what to expect during enablement, and how to complete the required setup form.

Overview 

As AI adoption grows, so does the risk of unsanctioned usage. Shadow AI Monitoring allows AgileBlue to detect AI tool activity within your environment and alert on tools that have not been approved for use by your organization. 

To ensure accurate monitoring and avoid unnecessary alert noise, Shadow AI Monitoring is enabled only after you identify which AI tools are approved for use at your organization. 

 

Before You Begin 

You will need the following to complete the enablement form: 

  1. Your full name 
  2. Your work email address 
  3. Your company name 
  4. A list of AI tools your organization has approved for employee use 

 

Step 1: Complete the Shadow AI Monitoring Enablement Form 

  1. Navigate to the Shadow AI Monitoring Enablement Form at: https://share.hsforms.com/1SWW3WJ6ETn2msqC2K6bYhg36w08 
  2. Enter your Full Name, Email, and Company Name in the required fields. 
  3. Under "Which AI tools are employees permitted to use in your environment?", check all tools that your organization has approved for employee use. The available options are:  
    1. ChatGPT 
    2. Claude 
    3. Gemini 
    4. Copilot 
    5. GitHub Copilot 
    6. Grok 
    7. Perplexity 
    8. Ollama 
    9. OpenAI 
  4. If your organization uses an AI tool not listed above, enter it in the "Other AI tools not listed above" field. AgileBlue will add it to the growing list. 
  5. Click Submit. 

 

What Happens Next 

Once your form is submitted, the AgileBlue team will enable Shadow AI Monitoring in your environment based on your selections. Any AI tool not identified as approved will be monitored and will generate alerts if detected in your environment.
