Office 365 User Account Status Real-Time Status Syncing
AgileBlue automatically polls your Office365 environment to ensure statuses are up to date in the portal, even when changes are made outside of AgileBlue.
Overview
Previously, if a user account was re-enabled from outside the AgileBlue portal - such as directly within Microsoft 365 or by the client's own administrators - the portal would continue to display the red locked status, creating a mismatch between the actual account state and what was shown in AgileBlue.
The O365 User Status Poller resolves this by checking the status of O365 accounts every 15 minutes and automatically updating the portal to reflect any changes made externally, ensuring your view is always accurate.
How the Status Poller Works
AgileBlue runs a background polling service that periodically queries your Microsoft 365 tenant for the current status of managed user accounts. This means:
- If an account was disabled via AgileBlue but has since been re-enabled outside the portal, the red lock icon will automatically clear once the poller detects the updated status
- No manual refresh or support intervention is required - the portal updates automatically

Understanding Status Sync When Changes Are Made Outside AgileBlue
If an O365 account is re-enabled directly in Microsoft 365 by your own administrators - rather than through the AgileBlue portal - the portal status will automatically update on the next polling cycle. No additional steps are required.
- The red lock icon will clear automatically once the poller detects the account is active
- This sync happens in the background without requiring a manual page refresh or support ticket
- If the icon does not clear after an extended period, confirm that the account has been successfully re-enabled in Microsoft 365 and that your O365 credentials in AgileBlue are valid
Troubleshooting - Status Icon Not Updating
If the red lock icon persists after a user has been re-enabled in Microsoft 365, follow these steps:
- Log in to the Microsoft Entra Admin Console
- Navigate to Users and search for the affected account
- Confirm the account Sign-in status is set to Enabled
- Return to the AgileBlue Portal and allow a few minutes for the next polling cycle to complete
- If the status still does not update, navigate to Settings and verify that your Office 365 credentials are valid and passing their credential health check
- If a red credential banner is displayed, follow the steps in the (need to insert link for host isolation credential check help center here) to refresh your credentials
- If the issue persists after confirming both the account status and credentials, contact AgileBlue Support for assistance
